  CanMap Water was created using 1:50000 and 1:250000 scale hydrographic data. Arcinfo was used in the beginning as the processing tool but since has been migrated to an SDE environment. Since the initial release, additional 1:50000 scale data has been input into the layers and additional double line rivers have been split from major waterbodies.
